Issue 17: The Apology Awards 2024

Welcome to the inaugural COMMPRESS Apology Awards

When it comes to apologies, not all are created equally. A good apology can be a balm to the soul, mending broken relationships and soothing egos, while a bad one can make everything a million times worse. So, what exactly makes a good apology? Well, it’s got to be genuine. No one wants a forced “SORRY BEN” in light of your bag being thrown across the train tracks. A real apology acknowledges the mistake, takes responsibility, and — wait for it—actually includes the words I’m sorry. Throw in a little empathy, and you’ve got yourself an apology worth accepting. A good apology is like a well-crafted Mai Tai — balanced, thoughtful and delivered to you near a body of water, like a nice hotel pool.
